I enjoy taking pictures of flora and fauna, particularly things that pander to my laziness. This spider sat on my door frame one summer and kindly allowed me to take pictures without going more than a few feet from the sofa. I also like this picture of a swan - swans are always helpful, being relatively large, slow, and easy to get close to compared with most wild birds.

Common blue butterfly (Polyommatus icarus) resting on the lavender in my back garden.
Vain, me? A swan appears to examine its reflection in one of the lakes in Fen Drayton nature reserve.
A female garden spider (Araneus diadematus) lies in wait for the unwary.
A lesser black-backed gull (Larus fuscus graellsii) cruising over the waters just off the island of Skomer.
A bumblebee (Bombus pratorum) about to alight on a Heuchera.

A swan just after landing in one of the lakes in the Fen Drayton nature reserve. By this point, it's lost some of its grace.
